#FLOCK is a unique and very limited edition cuckoo clock made by BERG in collaboration with Twitter. As a technology partner for this project, Twitter asked to help create a wirelessly connected clock which reacts to the activity of an individual Twitter account. To be given as an award to ten different brands or companies demonstrating the most creative use of Twitter, the intention was to make something surprising and delightful; a charming clock which embraces and embodies a craft aesthetic and gives a physical presence to virtual activity.

Home security systems can be costly, complicated and oftentimes require time-consuming installation. A new system seeks to get rid of these inconveniences by letting users wirelessly monitor their homes. With the Scout system, users can watch over their home for free from a smartphone, tablet or computer via Wi-Fi, or pay for professional monitoring. The sleek palm-sized device, which has sensors, can easily be transported to another location, according to Scout’s official website. Each system comes with a “base station,” which plugs directly into an Internet router, and communicates with the sensors wirelessly.

Rotterdam-based Dutch designer Reinier de Jong has created a clever storage solution with the REK bookcase, which “grows” with your expanding book collection. Using a sliding mechanism, the puzzle-like bookshelf pulls out and become wider when necessary to accommodate new books—with nooks of various sizes, users will also be able to arrange their books neatly according to size. The designer has recently launched a new and improved version of the REK bookcase—the updated piece has the same dimensions as the original but is much lighter and has a more sustainable, recycled HPL finish. The innovative bookcase is available in white, light grey, medium grey and dark grey—you can place an order for it here.
